Unlike all other referral websites, Peace of Mind does not require you to fill out pages and pages of information before you get to what you are looking for, you will not be bombarded with relentless phone calls from multiple contractors and we don’t even require you to sign up or sign in. This is a free service for homeowners to find trusted, locally owned contractors.
Our referral service is owned and managed by three women who happen to be previous contractors. The idea around our platform was “born” from our own experiences both in business as contractors, and personally as homeowners, who also need repairs from time to time. As contractors, we were continually approached by our customers looking to us for referrals to quality contractors in other fields of work. The homeowners also shared with us their frustration in not knowing which contractors to use, and that picking one was like “a shot in the dark” with respect to whether whoever they picked would wind up being a good choice or a “nightmare”.
Unfortunately, it seemed that hurricane Ian and the subsequent hurricanes that have plagued Florida over the last few years served only to compound homeowners’ anxiety in choosing contractors. Every day you would read or hear about homeowners reporting that they were “ripped off” by unscrupulous contractors taking deposits and never starting the work, or “price gouging” far above what was reasonable, even with increased supply costs that came post hurricane Florida.
In addition, homeowners shared that they were also frustrated when they attempted to use other website-based referral companies out there because of the platform they use. They said that they were required to fill out multiple pages of questions and personal information after which, they received TONS of emails and phone calls from MULTIPLE contractors for days or even weeks after their inquiry. Some also said that they never even requested a call, they just went on the website to do some research.
We believe that finding quality and trustworthy contractors should not have to be such an arduous and stressful process. That is why we started PEACE OF MIND HOME SERVICES. We wanted to provide a hassle-free service to consumers, to assist them in finding the very best contractors! And…. We did not believe that consumers should have to pay for that privilege!
